What to wear | Girls Weekend in Walla Walla

What to wear | Girls Weekend in Walla Walla

Every year, my squad makes a point to get away together. This year, we wound up Walla Walla, Washington wine country. Thankfully we got a break from the rain on Sunday, and an afternoon shopping outting wound up as an impromptu photo shoot! Overcast skies and low sixties called for a fancy sweatshirt, dark wash skinny jeans, booties, and a fun hat!

I love this J Crew top because you can dress it up or down. I've literally worn it to work, and I work in a corporate office! In my mind, I'm wearing a sweatshirt, but that little pleated trim is totally winking at you like, "Oh yes, she can get away with this!" It even looks great layered over a chambray shirt or gingham button down. I have my eye on a long white tuxedo shirt to try too! Similar-ish here and here.

I paired this with my favorite high-rise skinny jeans from Madewell (similar here) and comfy booties from Vince. Ladies let me tell you something--high rise jeans are where it's at if you have curvy hips and a small waist. Seriously--no waist gap.

I'm so picky about the shape of the toe in my shoes, and I absolutely love this pointed cut  (similar here and here)! Pro tip--if you're wearing booties, pair your nude colors with nude socks and your black with black socks. I can't stand when my socks are visible and lately, I've even taken to wearing footies instead of ankle socks! Correct colors, of course;).

Lastly, I topped off the outfit with what is quickly becoming one of my favorite fall purchases--this adorable fedora from Madewell. Green is so on trend--you can pair it with nearly any other color as the new nude. PS. It's on sale right now!

What fall accessory is your go to this season? And all my bootylicious babes--let me know what you think of high waisted jeans!
